About
Meet the Artist
Hi! I'm Mariah, a multi-passionate maker, outdoor adventurer, and human in the pursuit of being fully alive. I recently left a career in medicine to “let the soft animal of my body love what it loves” (thank you, Mary Oliver) to make lamps for you.
I fell in love with clay 20 years ago after serendipitously stumbling across a community studio. Clay teaches and gifts me daily with lessons of patience, presence, non-attachment, healing, and grounding. I love the dance with mud to create something really beautiful. I started making lamps while working on a hospital team during the COVID pandemic in a time I literally and figuratively needed more light, so I started making lamps, and as I tend to do, I fell in love. Clay brings joy and light to my world, and I hope my work brings the same to you.
When not making pots, I'm helping people live aligned and joyful lives through life coaching, walking along the Deschutes River with my sweet dog Ruby, or connecting with dear friends while likely playing outside on bikes, skis, or rocks.
